SFBB Systems Ltd are food safety consultants, trainers and auditors. Specialist services include CIEH level 1,2,3 and 4 food safety and HACCP courses as well as developing, training and implementing food safety management systems in small catering businesses and other sectors such as schools, child minders and care environments.

We are one of a few specialist companies specifically established to provide services in this sector, most practitioners of food safety services are individual trainers without the insurances, data protection systems, collective experiences, qualifications and support of a larger dedicated team. The company is also recognised by the HACCP team at the Food Standards Agency as a provider of services to Local Authorities within the SFBB framework contract.
The company has an expanding team consisting of two Directors, five Coaches and a head office of business targeting / administrative personnel.

The company is partnering with many local authority food safety teams as well as small independent chains or individual food businesses who are valuing the combined experiences and qualifications of our team of coaches who are highly qualified food safety trainers and experienced caterers.

We operate across the West Country, the South, South East and East Anglia.

Is it compulsory, or just reccommended to have Insectecutors (or similar) in all catering areas? (We are thinking of switching ours off to save power throughout the winter months)

The legal requirement is to have a pest free premises, which includes having no insects in food areas. The best solution is to prevent access - ie fly screens / nets but you have chosen an insectocutor to eradicate them if they get into the kitchen. Many people will turn them off during colder months as generally there are no flying insects; this is fine as long as you put them back on if and when you see insects flying around again as the weather becomes warmer. remember these units should be regularly cleaned / trays emptied and should not be positioned above food preparation tables. I hope this helps. William Wood.
