Revisionweb is an innovative approach to tutoring in the 21st Century using the best webinar software and excellent tutors to teach students in virtual classrooms. The service currently offers Science, English and Mathematics and from January 2012 we are pleased to announce that we will have MFL (French/German) and humanities (History/Geography) so that we can cater for all of the Ebacc subjects. We realise the economic climate is tough so the service allows you to buy ten revision sessions delivered by good / outstanding teachers from as little as £2.50 per session. The advantage over traditional tutoring is that you can mix and match subjects, reduce travel time and you do not have the hassle of a tutor entering your house (reducing tidying up stress!). We have also found that students prefer using the technology to traditional one to one tutoring and they can access the revision webinars through iphones, ipads and computers so they can revise anywhere.
How does it work?
The students log onto the session through the website and then have the opportunity to see a virtual lesson and interact with the tutor in real time, using the virtual raise hand function to speak to the tutor over the internet or text messaging service to answer questions. The tutor has the ability to monitor progress through learning polls and monitor attentiveness, so if a student minimises the screen they are notified. The student has the ability to log on using mobile devices (iphones, etc), tablets or computers so they can revise anywhere with earphones. Payments are made through the secure method of paypal and when you block book ten for £25 you recieve an email when you child is down to their last revision webinar. All staff are CRB cleared and the quality is monitored via a rate your webinar.
We use a world leading software company for the IT infrastructure and this has been used in business for training and promotional work for the last few years. We aim to bring tutoring into the 21st century and give parents an option to try revision webinars as a cost effective form of revision.
